Dr. Nadine Schürer

Biosketch

Nadine Schürer began her education at the University of Vienna studying Molecular Biology, realizing she wanted to move into translational science, she completed her MSc in Molecular Medicine at University College London (UCL), writing her master's thesis on “The effect of immunosuppressive drugs on regulatory T cells”.  She got her PhD in immunology from UCL at the Institute of Ophthalmology working on a clinical trial involving simvastatin. Nadine joined the group of Prof. Talin Barisani-Asenbauer at the Laura Bassi Center of Excellence – OCUVAC at the Medical University Vienna in 2013. Her main focus is working on establishing ocular in vitro models and drug delivery for topical application.
